MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Chowan Volleyball team wrapped up their final road contest of the season with a 3-1 loss to Mount Olive in non-conference action on Tuesday evening.

Micayla Pope tallied her 13th double-double of the season with 22 assists and 16 digs. Alyssa Born registered a team-high 27 digs in the contest.
Sydney Hiner tallied 24 digs and six kills. Breona Young and Milica Vejnovic also posted six kills.
The Hawks hit .015 while Mount Olive hit .137. The two teams combined for 234 digs on 399 attempts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set:
Both teams swapped points early as Alyssa Born served up an ace to give the Hawks a 4-3 lead early. A kill by Milica Vejnovic and Sydney Hiner kept the lead for the Hawks at 10-7.
Mount Olive used a four-point swing to take the lead at 11-10 before Sydney Hiner tied the set at 11-all.
Following a kill by Milica Vejnovic, the Trojans went on a four-point run to force a timeout by the Hawks up 17-12.
UMO added to their lead to lead 21-14 before a kill by Sydney Hiner ended the scoring drought. Errors by the Trojans allowed the Hawks to close the gap to 21-19 but the Trojans would take the set 25-20.
Second Set:
The teams would swap points once again in the early stages of the set as Courtney O'Keefe posted a kill at 4-all. Raven Finley-Flowers notched a kill to keep the set close.
Meghan Mutter tallied a kill to keep Chowan within striking distance as UMO led 13-9. The Trojans increased their lead to 20-14 before the Hawks went on a run.
Four errors by the Trojans allowed Chowan to close the gap to 20-18. Courtney O'Keefe managed a kill to trim the deficit again to 21-20.
Breona Young and Raven Finley-Flowers teamed up for a pair of blocks to give the Hawks a 24-22 advantage late in the set.
Breona Young posted a kill with the score tied at 25-all and Alyssa Born notched a service ace to give the Hawks the 27-25 set victory.
Third Set:
Mount Olive jumped out to an early 5-2 lead in the set as Breona Young tallied the lone kill during the stretch for the Hawks.
The Trojans would double up the Hawks at 12-6 and push the lead to 16-9 to force a timeout. UMO's momentum would continue as the Trojans pushed the lead to 20-13 and finally take the set 25-15.
Fourth Set:
The Hawks faced a huge hole in the final set as Mount Olive led 16-4. Breona Young posted two kills and one by Sydney Hiner for the only offense early.
Meghan Mutter and Sydney Hiner registered a kill to lead the Hawks back to an 18-10 deficit. With the Trojans leading 22-12, three errors and a kill by Milica Vejnovic and Breona Young trimmed the deficit to 23-17.
Another kill by Milica Vejnovic and errors by the Trojans closed the gap again to 24-21. The Trojans would find the final kill in the set to win 25-21.

Chowan returns home to wrap up the regular season as the Hawks host Virginia Union in a CIAA Northern Division showdown on Friday, November 2. The match will be Senior Night for: Alyssa Born, Raven Finley-Flowers, Courtney O'Keefe and Milica Vejnovic. First serve is scheduled for 6pm.
