WILSON, N.C. – Playing in their second overtime match in as many days, the Chowan Women's Soccer team needed 92 minutes to defeat Barton, 2-1 in Conference Carolinas action on Thursday evening.

Carolina Lucci scored her seventh goal of the season in the first half and tallied the game-winner in overtime in the 92'.
Sydney Henderson registered an assist on the game-winner.
Olivia Borer posted seven saves on the night with the lone goal coming in the final minute of regulation.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Chowan capitalized on a misplay as the Barton goalkeeper attempted to roll the ball to the wide side of the field. Carolina Lucci gathered the misplay and found the back of the net in the tenth minute for the 1-0 advantage.
The Hawks defensively anchored by Asia Fort, Shannon Park, Rebekah Langley, and Ashlyn Smith frustrated the Barton attack throughout the half allowing two shots on frame.
Stephanie Quintanilla ripped a shot towards goal in the 31' but needed to be cleared out by the Barton defense.
Second Half:
Chowan's defense continued to hold as Barton registered a shot on goal in the 76'. Barton continued to push forward in the final ten minutes of regulation notching five shots including the equalizing goal with 85 seconds left.
The Hawks had a chance in the final seconds of regulation but the attempt would not cross the end line before the final horn.
First Overtime:
Barton was given a corner kick and posted a shot on goal but was saved by Olivia Borer in the 92'. The Hawks went on the counter-attack as Borer played the ball up to Sabrina Henderson. Henderson would find Sydney Henderson flanking down the right sideline. Sy. Henderson pushed the ball forward and slotted the ball to the middle of the box, where Carolina Lucci poked the attempt past the defender and keeper for the game-winner in a matter of 24 seconds.
