MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team defeated King, 7-0, in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon for senior day.

Carolina Lucci led the Hawks with a hat-trick scoring three goals.
Senior, Susan Balladares scored for the Hawks, as well as, Stephanie Quintanilla, Ana Salgado, and Emily Trueman.
Sabrina Henderson tallied two assists on the afternoon. Sierra Gonzalez, Sydney Lenhardt, Ana Salgado, and Ashlyn Smith chipped in with one assist each.
Senior, Olivia Borer had a quiet day in cage stopping three shots on her way to a shutout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Stephanie Quintanilla put the Hawks on the board quickly converting a penalty kick in the third minute. Carolina Lucci would score her first goal of the match off a pass from Ana Salgado in the 8' to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead.
The scoring slowed for the Hawks until the 35' as Sierra Gonzalez found Carolina Lucci inside the box for the 3-0 advantage.
Second Half:
Just 33 seconds into the half, Ashlyn Smith played a ball over top the back line and found Ana Salgado, who finished far post to lead 4-0.
Carolina Lucci put the Hawks up 5-0 as Sabrina Henderson played a ball from the right wing to the middle of the box for Lucci to bury into the back of the net in the 53'.
In the 78', Emily Trueman lined up a free kick from 25-yds out. Trueman sent the attempt towards cage and found the back of the net as the attempt knuckled past the keeper.
Susan Balladares would put the finishing touches on the contest as a long throw in from Sydney Lenhardt found Sabrina Henderson. Henderson would flick the pass over to Balladares to find the goal from the middle of the box.
