LINCOLN UNIV., PA. – The Chowan Men's Basketball team fell to Lincoln in a low scoring contest in CIAA Northern Division action on Saturday afternoon, 58-45.

Tim Hewett paced the Hawks with 20 points going 8-15 (53.3%) from the floor. Keon Tucker came off the bench to score eight points. Trevis Buckhanon chipped in with seven points. Dino Muminovic hauled in a team high nine rebounds.
Lincoln's defense held the Hawks to their lowest point total since January 18, 2014, when Chowan fell to Elizabeth City State, 60-45.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Chowan held a slim 6-2 lead to start off the contest. Dino Muminovic knocked down a jumper to start off the attack. Trevis Buckhanon followed up with a pair from the charity stripe, along with a layup by Tim Hewett.
The Hawks and Lions traded baskets as Trevis Buckhanon and Tim Hewett converted from the floor. Lincoln took the lead midway through the half on a quick 7-2 run. Buckhanon tallied a dunk in the scuffle.
Lincoln widened their lead to 20-14 before Robert Grubbs drained a three to close the gap. Tim Hewett added a bucket, but the Lions countered with a triple at the other end. Gus Rowland trimmed the deficit to three, 24-21, going coast-to-coast for the layup.
Keon Tucker knocked down a trey following an offensive board to knot the contest up at 24-all. The Lions pushed their lead back to five, 29-24, to force a Chowan timeout.
Tim Hewett converted a pair from the stripe but the Lions pushed their advantage to double-figures, 37-26, at the end of the half.
Second Half:
Chowan's shooting woes carried over into the second half as the Hawks went scoreless for nearly seven minutes until Keon Tucker knocked down a trey to end the drought. The Lions Tucker added a layup but the Lions answer to push the lead to 44-31.
Lincoln continued to push ahead on a 7-3 run with Tim Hewett recording the only bucket for the Hawks as the Lions' lead swelled to 51-34.
The offense went through Tim Hewett in the latter portion of the half as Hewett scored the next 10 points for the Hawks. Hewett ended the drought with a jumper followed by a triple. The scoring continued connecting on a layup and a trey.
The Lions continued to match at the other end of the floor maintaining their double-digit lead holding off Chowan, 58-45.
