Chowan Basketball Faces Road Test At Bowie State

Women's Basketball (Game Notes)

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan earned a valuable CIAA Northern Division win over the weekend beating regionally ranked Virginia State.  The Hawks moved to 14-3 on the season and posting a 6-1 mark in CIAA play, while sporting a 2-0 record in the division.

The Hawks moved up to seventh in the D2SIDA poll after beating #6 Virginia State. CU has been ranked every week this season in the poll.

The Blue and White is led by seniors Dhyamond Crenshaw and Chantel Roberts.  Crenshaw leads the team with 17.4 points per game.  Roberts is averaging 18.6 ppg and 10.6 rebounds per game in the last five games.

Mariah Coker chips in with 13.0 points and 5.8 assists per contest.  Danielle Weldon adds to the mix with 11.1 points and 8.0 rebounds a game.

Mariah Coker and Coach LaToya Jones garnered CIAA Weekly honors this week.

BULLDOGS BIO
Bowie State is 12-5 on the season and 5-3 in CIAA play.  The Bulldogs are looking to pick up their first Northern Division win of the season sitting at 0-2.

The Bulldogs is ranked tenth in the D2SIDA poll this week after falling in their last two contests.

BSU posts three players in double-figures this season with Kyah Proctor leading the way at 14.5 points per game.  Kiara Colston (10.8) and Sade Chatman (10.4) are also in the mix.

Men's Basketball (Game Notes)

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan came up just short against nationally ranked Virginia State over the weekend to snap a mini two game win streak.  The Hawks are 7-9 on the season and 2-5 in CIAA play.

The Hawks have four players in double-figures in scoring.  Tim Hewett leads the attack with 16.1 ppg with Robert Grubbs (13.0), Gus Rowland (13.0), and Demetrius Sanders (11.5).  Rowland is averaging 18.1 points per game in the past five contests.

Dino Muminovic has thrown a block party since his arrival on campus.  The senior transfer has produced 51 blocks so far this season.  Muminovic sits fifth in the nation in total blocks.

BULLDOGS BIO
Bowie State comes into the contest with an 8-11 record and 3-5 in CIAA play.  The Bulldogs have split their last four contests.

Omari George and Ahmaad Wilson lead the Bulldogs in scoring with 14.7 and 13.4 points per contest respectively.  Saiquan Jamison hauls in 10.2 rebounds per game.
