BLUFFTON, SC - The Chowan University women's golf team opened play at the Pfeiffer University Invitational Monday afternoon. The Hawks completed the first day of play with a team score of 327 and finished in 12
th place out of the 17 teams competing in the tournament.
West Georgia and Wingate University are tied for first place with a team score of 292.
Inecia Rolle led the effort for the Hawks with a score of 74 and stands tied for ninth.
Gaby Rivera-Garcia hot an 80 in the first round of play, and stands tied for 45
th place, while
Virginia Lane carded an 81 in the opening round.
L'leah Laing shot a 92 and
Reina Pozo finished the round with 93 strokes.Â
The Hawks will tee up for the final round of the Pfeffier Invitational on Tuesday, March 7th in Bluffton, South Carolina.
