CU Basketball Faces Mount Olive In Mid-Week Clash

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Basketball teams will be in action on Wednesday against Mount Olive.  The Men's team will host the Trojans as the Women will travel to Mount Olive.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS

Chowan moved to #9 in the recent D2SIDA Atlantic Region polls after posting a 7-1 record to round out the month of November.  The Hawks are flying high as Chowan defeated regionally ranked Francis Marion, 80-75, in the recent outing.

Mariah Coker led the Hawks with a career-high 28 points going a perfect 7-7 from behind the arc.  Coker was named CIAA Player of the Week for her efforts.

Dhyamond Crenshaw, Chantel Roberts, and Mariah Coker lead the Hawks with double-figure scoring.  Crenshaw is posting 17.9 ppg with Roberts (16.0) and Coker at 13.5.

TROJANS TIDBITS

Mount Olive is 3-5 on the season posting two straight wins.  The Trojans have faced three common opponents falling to Catawba (94-81) and Lenoir-Rhyne (90-79) before winning to St. Augustine's (99-64).

Felecity Havens leads the Trojans in almost every statistical category with 25.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

Men's Basketball (Game Notes)

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS

Chowan has dropped their last three contests with two of those contests by a total of nine points, St. Augustine's (68-64) and Salem (90-85 OT).

The Hawks are led by senior Tim Hewett with 16.0 ppg.  Demetrius Sanders (13.6), Robert Grubbs (13.1) and Gus Rowland (11.6) have also chipped in with double-figure scoring.

Robert Grubbs scored a career-high 28 points against Salem hitting five threes.

TROJANS TIDBITS

Mount Olive is 4-2 on the season winning in their last outing 105-101 in double-overtime to Emmanuel.  The Trojans are 1-1 this season on the road.

The Trojans feature five players in double-figures with Cameron Robinson leading the team with 16.5 per outing.
