HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan rolled to an 89-57 season opening win against the Apprentice School on Friday evening. Joanne Williams notched her first career double-double with 15 points and a school record 19 rebounds.
Mariah Coker led the Hawks in scoring with 18 points. Joanne Williams and Chantel Roberts tallied 15 points along with Kaylah Henderson with 14 and Dhyamond Crenshaw with 12 points.
ABOUT THE BEARS
Lenoir-Rhyne split their first two games of the season at the SAC/Conference Carolinas Classic over the weekend. L-R fell to Barton in the opener before picking up a win against Mount Olive on Saturday.
Madi Suddreth leads the team in scoring at 15.5 ppg. Three other Bears average double figures early in the season.
