MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Karisa Patterson's triple-double was not enough for Chowan Volleyball as the Hawks fall to St. Andrews in the home finale on Tuesday evening, 3-1.

Karisa Patterson notched the program's first ever triple-double with 11 kills, 36 assists, and 17 digs in her final home match of her career.
Courtney O'Keefe notched 10 kills on the evening while Brittany Tschida and Makayla Castro tallied nine kills each.
Along with Patterson, Bailey Zavala (38), Milica Vejnovic (26), Makayla Castro (15), and Alyssa Born (13) posted double-digit digs. Zavala became the third Hawk to accumulate 1,000 digs in a career.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Set: Chowan 23, St. Andrews 25
Makayla Castro started the Hawks off strong with a kill for the opening point of the match. Courtney O'Keefe notched a kill followed by a service ace by Castro gave the Hawks an early 3-1 lead.
Both teams battled and forth throughout the set until St. Andrews rallied to take an 18-16 lead forcing a timeout.
The Knights pushed their lead to 22-17 before Brittany Tschida ended the rally with a kill. Karisa Patterson and Brittany Tschida team up for the block.
Brittany Tschida and Karisa Patterson record a kill to cut the deficit to 23-22. Karisa Patterson tallied another kill in the set but a service error ended the set in favor of the Knights, 25-23.
2nd Set: Chowan 25, St. Andrews 21
Chowan raced out to a 6-1 lead as Milica Vejnovic and Courtney O'Keefe tally a kill during the early run.
Fighting off a Knights rally, four different Hawks register a kill to keep the Hawks in front 12-10.
Karisa Patterson's service ace, Courtney O'Keefe's block and Makayla Castro's kill forced a St. Andrews' timeout with the Hawks leading 15-10.
The Knights cut the deficit to 18-17 after a Chowan timeout but back-to-back errors allowed the Hawks to breathe with a 20-17 advantage.
Karisa Patterson and Courtney O'Keefe ended the set with a pair of kills to knot the match at one set each.
3rd Set: Chowan 22, St. Andrews 25
In a back-and-forth set, the Hawks gained a slight advantage early at 6-4 after Milica Vejnovic and Karisa Patterson tallied kills.
Karisa Patterson found open space in the middle of the Knights defense for another kill to give the Hawks a 12-9 lead. The Knights would answer with a three point run to knot the match at 12-all.
Milica Vejnovic followed by a block by Brittany Tschida and Karisa Patterson provide the Hawks with a 17-14 lead forcing a Knights' timeout.
St. Andrews rallied to take the lead at 21-19, but Makayla Castro and Courtney O'Keefe tied the set back up at 21-all.
Three straight kills by the Knights ended the set to take a 2-1 set advantage.
4th Set: Chowan 23, St. Andrews 25
The Hawks jumped out once again to 6-1 lead thanks to four errors by the Knights. Back-to-back kills by Milica Vejnovic pushed the Hawks forward to a 7-3 lead.
St. Andrews continued to fight back cutting the deficit to 9-8 before two errors and a kill by Makayla Castro forced a timeout by the Knights, 12-8.
The Hawks would force the final St. Andrews timeout leading 18-13. Kayla Gates notched a kill and an assisted block during the rally as Milicia Vejnovic's kill forced the timeout.
Out of the timeout, St. Andrews rallied with a 6-2 run cutting their deficit to 20-19 forcing a Chowan timeout.
The Knights would complete the comeback knotting the match at 22-all and then taking the lead 24-22.
Brittany Tschida inched the Hawks closer with a kill, 24-23 but was unable to finish the set falling 25-23.

Chowan heads on the road for their final two matches of the regular season as the Hawks will face Virginia State on November 6 and Virginia Union on November 9 to end the regular season.
