MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team fell in overtime against Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas match, 3-2, on Tuesday evening.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Chowan outproduced the Trojans 12-1 on corner kicks but were unable to connect on the attempts.
Josh Baker notched his fifth goal of the season on a penalty kick.
Barkan Koeprueluegil tallied his first goal of the season, while Lee Wattam recorded his third assist on the goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half:
Denis Roule tallied the first shot for the Hawks in the fifth minute of play but was denied by the Trojan keeper.
The Hawks continued to attack as Lee Wattam's attempt off a Mitchell Levi Lewis corner kick missed to the right.
Mount Olive looked to get on the board in the 38' off a free kick. UMO's Loibl curled a ball from the top of the box straight away but was stuffed by Elliot Chadderton to keep the match level.
Neither team was able to gain the advantage in the first 45 minutes.
2nd Half:
Chowan was aggressive in the first 15 minutes of the half recording four corner kicks. Mike Dowling tallied two shots on goal but was denied by the Trojans' defense.
Mount Olive was able to break the scoreless draw in the 77' finding the back of the net from the left wing for the 1-0 lead.
The Trojans continued to attack pushing their lead to 2-0 in the 80' finding the far post.
Chowan was able to claw back into the match in the 82' as off a corner kick the Trojans were called for a handball inside the box. Josh Baker converted from the spot to cut the deficit to 2-1.
After Octavio Espino attempt was blocked the ball bounced to the foot of Lee Wattam on the left wing. Wattam slotted a pass across the face of the goal to a sliding Barkan Koeprueluegil for the equalizer in the 85'.
Both teams were handed a red card in the final minute of play heading into overtime.
1st Overtime:
Chowan continued to pressure in the overtime period grabbing two corners quickly. Carl Kennedy recorded a header in the 93' but was blocked.
In the 95', James Scott ripped a low line drive towards the cage but skipped right into the hands of the Trojan keeper.
Mount Olive took advantage of the Hawks' pressure in the 96' as a clear out bounced off the head of a defender and found a streaking Trojan attacker. UMO's attacker chipped the keeper for the game-winner in the 96'.
