CENTRAL, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team dropped their first match in nine attempts as the Hawks fell to Southern Wesleyan on the road, 3-1, in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks dropped their first match in over a month as the Warriors ended the streak of 7-0-1.
Carl Kennedy tallied the lone goal for the Hawks in the 85th minute.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half:
Chowan had three straight shots blocked to open the match as Denis Roule recorded two of those shots.
SWU found the back of the net on their first attempt of the match in the 27' to take a 1-0 lead.
Trevin Myers recorded the lone shot on goal in the first half for the Hawks as his attempt was saved.
2nd Half:
Lee Wattam recorded a shot in the opening minute of the second half but was saved by the Warriors' keeper.
SWU extended their lead to 3-0 with two quick goals in the 65' and 68'.
Carl Kennedy denied the shutout in the 85' as his initial shot was saved and later found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Chowan had a chance to cut the match to a one goal contest in the 88' but the penalty kick was saved.
