Soccer Travels To Southern Wesleyan For League Action

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer teams travel to Southern Wesleyan on Saturday, October 20 for a pivotal Conference Carolinas twinbill.

Women's Soccer

HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan is riding a five match win streak outscoring their opponents 14-1 during the span.  The Hawks are 9-1-2 on the season and 6-1-1 in league play.

The Hawks are led by freshman striker, Carolina Lucci, is tied for second in the nation with 16 goals on the season.  Lucci leads the Conference Carolinas with in league goals (11) and points (24). Mackenzie ImamuraSabrina HendersonSierra Gonzalez and Hope Kohl have found the back of the net twice.  Imamura, Henderson and Lucci have four assists on the season.

Olivia Borer and company have posted nine shutouts on the season.

ABOUT THE WARRIORS
Southern Wesleyan sits in sixth in the league standings looking to make it into the playoff hunt with an 8-6-0 overall record and 4-5-0 in league play.

SWU is led by Ashley Romanowski posting the second most goals in the conference with nine goals but only four have come in league play. Romanowski also leads the team with six assists.  Rachel Curtis has chipped in six goals and four assists.

Men's Soccer

HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan moved to fifth in the SE Regional rankings and eighth in the opening regional rankings of the NCAA poll this week with a 9-2-2 overall record and 7-0-1 in their last eight matches.

The Hawks offense is sharing the love this season as Terell Williamson and Lee Wattam lead the Hawks with five goals each, while Josh Baker is third with four goals.

Elliot Chadderton and company have posted six shutouts this season and allowing 1.03 goals per contest.

ABOUT THE WARRIORS
Southern
Wesleyan is 4-7-2 on the season and 3-3-2 in league play.  The Warriors have struggled at home this season posting a 1-3-2 record.

Sergio Tapia and Grant Kiker lead SWU with five and four goals respectively.
