Soccer Competes On Wednesday In Non-Conference Play

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer teams will be in action on Wednesday in non-conference action.  The women will host Shaw, while the men will travel to face Francis Marion.

Women's Soccer

HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan is riding a four match win streak outscoring their opponents 11-1 during the span.  The Hawks are 8-1-2 on the season and 4-0-1 at home.

The Hawks are led by freshman striker, Carolina Lucci, sitting in sixth in the nation with 14 goals on the season.  Mackenzie Imamura, Sabrina Henderson, Sierra Gonzalez and Hope Kohl have found the back of the net twice.

Olivia Borer and company have posted eight shutouts on the season and have allowed one goal at home this season.

ABOUT THE BEARS
Shaw is in their first season as a Division II sport posting a 3-8-0 record.  Shaw will be playing their 12th match on the road this season and has yet to have a home match.  The Bears are coming off a 4-0 win over Christendom last week.

Leslie Mendoza paces the Bears with four goals on the season.  Alana Navarrette and Hannah Pealstrom have three goals each.

Men's Soccer

HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan moved to fifth in the SE Regional rankings this week with an 8-2-2 overall record and 6-0-1 in their last seven matches.

The Hawks offense is sharing the love this season as Terell Williamson and Lee Wattam lead the Hawks with five goals each, while Josh Baker is third with four goals.

Elliot Chadderton and company have posted five shutouts this season and allowing 1.12 goals per contest.

ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
Francis Marion is 6-6 overall as a member of the Peach Belt Conference.  The Patriots are on a three match losing streak falling to Young Harris and Lenoir-Rhyne, both in the top-10 in the SE Region.

Levin Sandmann leads the squad with eight goals and four assists.  The Patriots score 2.05 goals per contest and allow 2.13 goals per contest.
