RICHMOND, Va. - The Chowan's Men's and Women's Cross Country team concluded their regular season at the Panther Classic hosted by Virginia Union University. The Hawks placed fourth and fifth place respectively.

ON THE COURSE
For the Men
- Chowan's freshman Jalen Thomas led the course for the Hawks with a 10th place finish and 30:31.1 course time. Thomas averaged a 6:08 minute mile on the day.
- Ghassan Alansi completed the course in 30:55 for a personal best on the season. Alansi placed 13th overall and averaged a 6:13 minute mile.
- Kevin Taylor placed 18th individually and ran a 31.12.4 for the Blue and White.
- George Kattan and Sadiq Amzat placed 23rd and 28th respectively.
For the Women
- With a season best, Lela Knight crossed the finish line in 21:31 to place 11th overall. Knight averaged a 6:49.7 minute mile.
- Teammate Elizabeth Stokes finished in 23rd overall with a 24:04 time finish while Raven Finley-Flowers recorded a 25:28.7 in the invite.
- Chasity Henderson also competed for the Hawks, placing 28th individually.
- Maresa Caceres rounded out the scoring posting a 38:42.6 time finish.

The Hawks will travel to Salem, Va. on Oct 26th to compete in the 2017 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Cross Country Conference Championships.
