Box Score SALISBURY, NC - The Chowan University women's basketball program suffered a 90-83 loss to Livingstone College on Monday night. The Lady Blue Bears had five players net double-figures to help propel them to the win. The Hawks fell to 14-7 overall and 7-4  in the CIAA after the loss. Livingstone College improved to 12-9 overall and 7-4 in league play. 

Chowan hit 41% from the floor, but failed to convert from beyond the three point arc, going 0-9 from the field. Livingstone hit six three pointers in the game, including two key three pointers midway through the fourth quarter that helped them to get the eventual 90-83 win. The Lady Blue Bears forced 23 Chowan turnovers and converted those turnovers into 34 points. 

Chowan got 17 points from both Danielle Weldon and Jordan Payne. Weldon hit 8-15 from the floor and grabbed five rebounds while Payne hauled in 10 boards to go with her 17 points. Mariah Coker scored 16 points and dished out five assists and Dhyamond Crenshaw chipped in 10 points. 

For Livingstone, Brittany Taylor and Deonna Young both hit for 21 points. Zena Lovette added 20 points. 

Chowan will take the rest of the week to prepare for the second swing of CIAA Northern Division play as they travel to Elizabeth City State University on Saturday, February 4th. Tip off is slated for 2:00pm on the campus of Elizabeth City State University.
