MURFREESBORO, NC - The Chowan University men's and women's basketball programs will host Bowie State University in a CIAA Northern Division match up on Saturday, January 21st. Tip off for the women is set for 2:00pm and the men will follow that with a 4:00pm tip off. Both games will be played at the Helms Center on the campus of Chowan University. 

The women's team enters Saturday's match up on a two-game divisional win streak after beating ECSU by thirty points a week ago. They picked up a key divisional road win on Wednesday night at Virginia State to improve to 12-5 overall and 5-2 in CIAA play. Bowie State enters Saturday's game at 14-4 overall and 6-2 in the CIAA. They are coming off a 77-70 loss to the #2 team in the nation, Virginia Union University. Saturday's match up between these two teams is sure to excite fans with a fast pace and intense defense from both sides. 

The men's squad enters Saturday's match up with a 10-5 overall record and a 4-3 CIAA record. The Hawks will be looking to pick up a win after dropping their last two games against Winston-Salem State and Virginia State University. The Hawks have been perfect at home this season with a 9-0 home court record. Bowie State enters Saturday's match up at 7-11 overall and 4-4 in league play. They have lost their last two games against Lincoln and Virginia Union.
