SNOW HILL, NC - The Chowan University women's golf team completed the second and final round of play at the Cutter Creek Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks finished in 9th place out of the 11 teams that competed in the tournament.
UNC Pembroke took first place in the tournament after shooting a team score of 311 on Tuesday and finishing with a two-day team total of 621. The overall individual winner was Kaitlyn Gribbon of Belmont Abbey who finished with a two-day total of 146, shooting only 2 over par.
After turning in a team score of 352 on Monday, the Hawks improved on day two with a team score of 346 for a two-day total of 698.
Inecia Rolle carded a team-low of 78 on Tuesday, shaving 2 strokes off of her previous day's score (80). She finished in 13th place in the 60-player field with a two-day total of 158. Also shaving two strokes off her first round score (82),
Virginia Lane shot an 80 on day two leaving her tied for 23rd with a two-day total of 162.
Gaby Rivera-Garcia turned in a score of 91 on the second day of play finishing in 47th place.
L'leah Laing shot a 97 on Tuesday afternoon followed by
Chelsea Rose who carded a 129. Laing ended the tournament with a two-day total of 200, followed by Rose who shot a two-day total of 251.
The Hawks return to action on September 18th when they compete in the Converse Fall Invitational hosted by Converse College in Spartanburg, NC.
