HARRISONBURG, VA - The Chowan University women's golf team competed in round one of the Bridgewater Fall Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks completed the first day of play with a team score of 333 and stand in third place out of the eight teams competing in the tournament.

Bridgewater College stands in first after the opening round with a team score of 314. Christina Herbert led the Eagles and finished in first place overall after carding a 74.

Inecia Rolle paced the Hawks with a score of 78 in the first round and finished the day in fourth place in the 55 player field.
Virginia Lane stands tied for 11th place after the first round with a score of 80, while
Gaby Rivera-Garcia carded an 82 finishing in 18th place on the afternoon. Â Rounding out the scoring for Chowan,
L'leah Laing shot a 93 and finished tied for 33rd place in the opening round.
Chelsea Rose of Chowan also competed in the tournament.

The second round of play continues on Sunday at Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
