Box Score WILSON, NC- The Chowan University women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback on the road against Barton College on Wednesday evening.  The Hawks move to 1-4 on the season with the loss while the Bulldogs improve to 2-3 on the year with the victory. 

Barton got on the board within the first ten minutes of play as Kelly Duncan found the back of the net using a cross by Tanya Garcia.  Holding a 1-0 lead after the halftime break, Barton tacked on three additional goals in the second half to earn the win. 

Just over five minutes into the second half, Amanda Kraft took advantage of a penalty kick to leave the Hawks trailing 2-0.  In the 70^th minute, Tinker beat the last two Chowan defenders in the box and sent the ball far post to push Barton ahead 3-0.  Tinker scored again three minutes later to secure the 4-0 win for Barton. 

The Bulldogs recorded 12 shots in the win while holding the Hawks to five shots over the course of the competition.  Jaime Calcagno and Christine Chubb led the effort for Chowan with two shots apiece. 

Tinker paced Barton with three shots while Garcia added two in the victory. 

Olivia Borer made four saves in goal for the Hawks.  Haley Sauls collected two saves for Barton, propelling the Bulldogs to the shutout win. 

Chowan returns to Hawks Field on Saturday afternoon for a 1pm contest against Lincoln University (PA).
