Box Score MURFREESBORO - The Chowan University men's basketball team extended their home court win streak to two games after beating Belmont Abbey College 74-57 on Saturday afternoon. Chowan improves their overall record to 3-1 after the win while the Crusaders fall to 2-2.
For the second game in a row freshman
Marco Haskins ignited the Hawks offense off the bench. Haskins poured in a game-high 19 points after hitting four of six from three point land and five of seven from the floor overall.
The Hawks controlled the game from the opening tip getting the lead early in the game and never losing it. Chowan took a 35-28 lead into the halftime period and rolled through the second half to get the 17 point win.
Joining Haskins in double figures was
Carlos Arroyo who netted 13 points. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out five assists.
Kortez Smith scored 12 points and had five assists in the win.
Jeremy Smith scored seven points and had eight boards in the win.
For Belmont Abbey, Deion Lane scored a team-high 15 points while teammate Nick Hough scored 12 points.
The Hawks will host Saint Augustine's University in their next outing on Tuesday, November 24
th. Tip off is slated for 7:30p.m. at the Helms Center.
