Box Score HOCKESSIN, DE- The Chowan University women's soccer team fell to Goldey-Beacom College 6-0 on Thursday afternoon.  The Hawks slide to 1-8 on the season with the setback while the Lightening improves to 2-6 on the year after Thursday's victory. 

Chowan was held to a total of three shots over the course of the competition. Christine Chubb, Jennifer Harvell and Sierra Hargraves each recorded one shot in the contest.  Marissa Ghani faced 26 shots during Thursday's game, 16 of which were on frame.  She made ten saves in goal for the Chowan Blue and White. 

Amy Runicman led the effort with six shots, five of which were on frame, three goals and one assist for Goldey-Beacom.   Kelsey Vick added four shots and two goals in the victory while Jane Grimley also recorded a goal for Goldey-Beacom.  Megan Harvis tallied five shots and two assists to aid the effort.

Goldey-Beacom scored three goals in the first period and three in the second to earn the victory.  Vick scored twice before halftime along with Runciman, who added a score to push the Lightning ahead 3-0 by the end of the first period.  Runciman completed the hat trick after scoring twice in the second period while Grimley's score helped solidify the 6-0 victory for Goldey-Beacom. 

The Hawks return to action on October 6^th when they host Barton College.  Game time is slated for 4:00pm.
