Hawks Finish 16th at HBCU Challenge

Tristan Martin crossed the finish line first for the Hawks on Saturday.
CARY, NC- The Chowan University men's cross country team competed in the HBCU Challenge on Saturday afternoon.  The Hawks finished in 16th out of 17 teams that competed in the meet.  Chowan earned a team score of 439.  North Carolina A&T State University took home first place honors with team score of 45, followed by Morehouse College (51), and Virginia Union University (86). 

Tristan Martin finished in first place for the Hawks and in 70th place overall.  He crossed the finish line at the 31:30.6 mark. 

Sasha Kirsanov completed the 8k course in 36:19.0 and in 96th place.  Jerrell Ralph finished at the 36.44.1 mark and in 99th place in the 115-runner field.  Robert Williams and Phillip Hempfield finished in 106th and 107th place.  Williams crossed the line at the 39:28.4 mark, followed by Hempfield, who finished in 39:59.6. 

Danilo Galovic also competed in the meet.  He finished in 112th place and crossed the line at the 41:11.7 mark.
