ATHENS, WV- The Chowan University women's tennis team trumped Concord University 7-0 on Sunday afternoon.  The victory is the second in as many days for the Hawks.  Every member of the Chowan line-up earned a win in doubles and singles competition against the Mountain Lions. 
 
In doubles play, Natalya Kamenshchikova and Holly Stambaugh earned an 8-1 victory over Laura Leon and Kirby Mustard.  Breanne Johnson and Jessica De Backre teamed up for an 8-2 win against Hannah Faegre and Hanna Growe. 
 
Kamenschikova blanked Leon 6-0, 6-0 in singles play.  Stambaugh and Johnson grabbed victories over Mustard and Faegre respectively, while De Backre came out on top against Growe.  Straffai Cleveland earned a 6-0, 6-3 win against Linsay Hamilton to secure the 7-0 victory for the Hawks. 
 
Concord falls to 0-2 on the short season while the Hawks improve to 2-0.
 
Chowan returns to Murfreesboro to host Shepherd University on September 21^st.  The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm. Complete results are listed below:
