ATHENS, WV- The Chowan University men's tennis team cruised to a 7-2 victory over Concord University on Sunday afternoon.  Danilo Galovic and Pedro Aiala fell to Robert Caplin and Henry Boyle 8-3 in doubles play, but Farid Hajizada and Ivan Doubograev notched an 8-2 win over Danny Fonrondona and Bill Wright to even the score 1-1.  Tristan Martin and Sasha Kirsanov picked up a doubles win by forfeit to secure an early 2-1lead. 
 
Hajizada earned a 6-0, 6-2 win in singles play, along with Aiala who was victorious over Fonrondona 6-4, 6-3.  Galovic fell in singles competition to Boyle.  Martin earned a victory over Daniel Contente 7-5, 6-1 while Doubograev earned a win by forfeit to secure the 7-2 win.
 
The Hawks improve to 2-0 after Sunday's victory while Concord falls to 0-1 after the setback.  Chowan will play host to Shepherd University at 1:00pm on September 21^st.
