CHARLOTTE, NC - The Chowan University women's basketball team picked up the #10 seed in the eleven team tournament set to start on Tuesday evening. The Hawks will face off against #7 Shaw University on Tuesday night in the late game. Tip off is slated to start at 9:00pm at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. 

The Hawks (9-16) faced the Lady Bears (15-11) twice in the regular season, falling both times. In a low scoring game, Shaw took a 48-38 win over Chowan in their first meeting of the season on February 6th. CIAA Rookie of the Year Talaya Lynch scored a game-high 14 points and eight rebounds in the ten point loss. Najah Harris had nine points Brittany Nicholson dished out five assists. 

The two teams just wrapped up the regular season this past Saturday against one another on Shaw's home court. Shaw came away with the 75-62 win to sweep the two-game series. Harris and Ransheda Jennings posted 14 points while Lynch chipped in 10 points.
