MURFREESBORO - Barton College's Tara Larson scored a goal in the top corner, far post in the 100th minute of today's match to lift her team over Chowan 2-1. The shot was taken from about 35 yards out and placed perfectly in the top corner of the goal, past an outstretched
Kristy Brown. The Hawks fall to 2-6-2 on the year while Barton College improves to 2-11 overall. (

Barton struck first in the match after Anna Tressler scored on a header off a rebounded shot in the 25th minute. Chowan's
Lacy Crafton took a hard shot from about 35 yards out and sent it far post to knot the match at 1-1 in the 38th minute. The two teams played to a scoreless second period, forcing the overtime play.
Larson's goal just five minutes into the overtime period gave the Bulldogs the win.
Brown ended the day with 13 stops in goal after facing 26 shots.
Alaina Beasley had a team-high five shots, with three on goal.
Jillian Ferns had three shots for Chowan, including a potential game-winning shot in the final minute of the match but Barton's keeper Miki Mileika made a solid save to force overtime.
Chowan will host St. Andrews College on Wednesday in a 4:00pm match in their next outing.
