Belmont Abbey Downs Hawks in Overtime

Brittany Nicholson had a key steal, lay up, and blocked shot in final :45 of game to force OT

BELMONT, NC - Belmont Abbey College edged the women's basketball team 65-59 in overtime this afternoon in non-conference basketball action, giving the Hawks their third loss of the season. Despite four Chowan players scoring in double figures, Belmont Abbey took advantage of their free shots in the game. Nicholson blocked a key shot by the Crusaders on their next trip down the court to force the overtime period.
