TIGERVILLE, SC - The men's soccer team's season came to an end today as they fell to North Greenville University with a final score of 5-1. The Hawks and the Crusaders were competing today in a NCCAA South Region play in match with the winner advancing to next weekend's NCCAA South Region Tournament.
The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime and added three second half goals. Jonathan Potter broke up the Crusader shut out when he scored an unassisted goal in the 78th minute for Chowan.
North Greenville edged the Hawks 22 to five in total shots and had a six to two corner kick advantage in the match. Josh Cenci played in goal for Chowan, getting nine saves.
Chowan ends the season at 1-16 overall. North Greenville improves to 9-7-1 and advances to the NCCAA South Region Tournament at Emmanual College (GA) next weekend.
