MURFREEESBORO - Both the men's and women's soccer teams have extended their 2009 playing seasons with an invitation to the 2009 NCCAA South Region Tournament. However both teams will have to compete in a play-in match before making it to the four-team tournament which is being held at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia on November 20-21st.
The men's soccer team will face off against North Greenville on Friday, November 13th in a 1:00pm match for their play-in. The top four teams advance to the NCCAA South Region Tournament which means the Hawks would have to win Friday in order to compete November 20-21st. Chowan lost 5-0 to the Crusaders earlier in the regular season play.
The women's team will travel to Emmanuel College on November 17th for their play-in match against the Lions. If they win they will advance to the regional tournament held at the same location later that week. Like the men's side, only the top four teams in the NCCAA South Region will be eligible for regional play. If the Hawks win over Emmanuel, they will advance to play November 20-21st.
