WILSON, NC - The women's soccer team used two second half goals to pick up their 5th win of the season over Barton College this evening. The two teams played to a 0-0 first half but scores by
Alisha Terry and
Ashley Bradford in the second half lifted them to victory tonight.
Freshman
Alisha Terry broke the scoreless tie in the 63rd minute. Senior
Clara Danzeisen crossed the ball from the left side, where Terry blasted into the goal from 25 yards.
The Hawks made it 2-0 in the 70th minute when senior
Ashley Bradford broke down the right side and ripped a shot into the back left of the net. Bradford had a strong second half controlling the ball for the victors.
Chowan finished with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Junior
Kristy Brown collected five saves for the Hawks and freshman Angelina Lovette made eight stops for Barton.
Chowan improved to 5-9 overall while Barton slipped to 2-9-1. Barton is home with 1 p.m. Saturday with Conference Carolinas foe Anderson University while Chowan plays Wingate at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
