MURFREESBORO - The women's soccer team evened their overall record at 2-2 after blanking Peace College at home 10-0 this afternoon. On the heels of a 5-1 win over Coker College last night, the Hawks have scored 15 goals in two games after being shut out in the first two games of the season. Chowan out shot the Pacers 36 to 2 in the match, 24 of those 36 shots were on goal. Three Hawks scored multiple goals including Ashley Bradford who scored 3 goals and collected 3 assists. Bradford has scored 18 points in two matches, including a record setting day today with 12 total points. The previous record was 11 points set in the 2003 season by Rebecca Bullard. Freshmen Katie Perkins and Clara Danzeisen scored 2 goals each. Ally Pearson, Amanda Jenkins, and Kermethia Abernathy each added a goal in the game. Abernathy also had an assist on Danzeisen's second goal in the 66th minute.
The Hawks will travel to Randolph-Macon College on Monday for a 4:00pm match. They return home to host Mount Olive College on the 13th of September.
