MURFREESBORO - The football team packed up the bus this morning at 8:00am and left town shortly after on their way to their season opener at Western Carolina University. The Hawks will arrive later this afternoon in Cullowhee where they will have a light walk through practice and a players meeting before resting up on the eve of kick off.

Tomorrow night's game has been the main focus for the coaching staff in this preseason, which lasted just about three weeks. The squad worked in two blue/white scrimmages and simulated game-play daily in preparation for the season opener. The Hawks are now ready to put that all of that practice into play and get the 2006 season started.
