FERRUM, VA - The men's soccer team ended a ten-game winless streak today with a 2-1 win over Ferrum on the road. The match remained scoreless until the 63rd minute when Chowan's Korey Kamppi scored an unassisted goal to get ahead of the Panthers 1-0. Ferrum struck back in the 88th minute, scoring a goal of their own to tie the match at 1-1.
Just :24 later, still in the 88th minute Ferrum scored an own goal to give Chowan a 2-1 lead over the home standing Panthers.
Chowan's Josh Cenci started in goal for Chowan allowing 1 goal and getting 4 saves. Chowan got off 9 shots in the match while Ferrum tallied 11 shots. The Hawks improve to 1-9-1 on the season while Ferrum falls to 1-10 on the year.
Chowan will host Lenior-Rhyne College on Monday at 3:00pm in their next and final home match.
