MURFREESBORO - The women's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with Converse College this afternoon, moving them 3-5-1 overall.
The Braves got on the board first when
Lisa Knieriemen scored with 1:40 to go in the first period on a cross sent in from
Kermethia Abernathy. Converse scored to tie the game in the 54th minute on an unassisted goal.
The two teams battled out the remainder of regulation and into two overtime periods with neither one finding the back of the net for a winning score. Chowan's
Emily Warthan totaled eight saves in goal in the match while allowing just one goal.
Chowan out shot Converse 21 to 9 in the match while also getting off 7 corner kicks. Knieriemen scored the Braves lone goal with Abernathy getting the assist.
The Braves will travel to Shenandoah on Tuesday for a 4:00pm match.
