MURFREESBORO - The Braves had no problems handling the Cougars of Averett University this afternoon as they won 52-42. The win moves the Braves to 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Braves jumped out early on the Cougars holding them to just 12 points at the half. Averett made a run in the later part of the second half to bring them within 10 but the Braves prevailed. The Braves shot 40% from the floor in the game and were 5 of 10 from beyond the three-point arch.
Amanda Murray led all scorers with 15 points while teammate Kara Jackson scored 10, her second consecutive double figure night off the bench. Erin Ward had 7 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals in the win. The Braves face off against Ferrum College tomorrow at 1:00pm.
