Box Score Randy Anderson carried the ball 27 times for 115 yards to lead Ferrum (3-4, 1-2 ACFC) to a 17-7 victory over Chowan (3-3, 2-3), Saturday in Murfreesboro, NC.
Ferrum dominated the game on both sides of the ball, tripling the number of first downs gained by the Braves (18-6) and more than doubling the Braves offensive output, 307-115. The Panthers outrushed Chowan, 278-59.
The Braves lone score came when David Boyd recovered a Kodi Smith fumble at the Panther four yardline. Two plays later, Tim Mitchell found Devin Vincent in the endzone for a four-yard score. The fumble was one of four turnovers the Braves defense forced, but the only one they were able to cash in on.
Ferrum got six yard touchdown runs from Jackson Self and Phil Hairston, and a 28-yard field goal from Joe Cavaleri.
The win is Ferrum's second in a row, while the Braves have dropped three straight. The Braves have a much needed off week next week, while the Panthers will travel to Frostburg State.
