Garrison Stadium in Murfreesboro and is the school's Homecoming....Chowan is coming off a 31-27 loss at the hands of Salisbury State....In that game, Timmy Carter carried the ball 20 times for 116 yards....Freshman Jawarren Cowles added 73 yards rushing and two touchdowns....Doug Leary completed 6-of-12 passes for 140 yards and one score....Justin Trout added to his school-record points total, connecting on 32 and 36 yard field goals....Defensively, the Braves were led by Keith Jones who recorded nine tackles, including one sack and a fumble recovery.
The Panthers, under the direction of sixth-year head coach Dave Davis, are coming off a 17-14 win over Guilford last weekend....Joe Cavaleri's 22-yard field goal with five seconds left in the game gave Ferrum the win....Kodi Smith had two catches, both for touchdowns....Phil Hairston rushed for 116 yards on 16 carries.
THE SERIES
The Braves and Panthers are meeting for the seventh time (as four year schools) on the gridiron Saturday afternoon....Last season the Panthers defeated the Braves, 14-0, at W.B. Adams Stadium in Ferrum....In that game, the Braves were led by a trio of backs who gained 30 yards each....Lamont Boone (33), Timmy Carter (30) and Mark Fowler (30) shouldered the load for the Braves....Randy Anderson rushed for 115 yards and one score to lead Ferrum....The Braves and Panthers met for the first time as four-yaer schools in 1993, with the Panthers winning, 49-21....Ferrum leads the all-time series 6-0.
CHOWAN HEAD COACH STEVE LEE
Currently in his second season at the helm of the Braves program and his second season as a head coach, Lee led the Braves to a 5-5 overall record in 1998, their first non-losing mark as a four-year institution....Lee earned his first career coaching victory by directing the Braves to a 41-28 victory over Greensboro on September 12, 1998 in Greensboro, NC....Lee also serves as Chowan's director of athletics....Prior to being named head coach, Lee served as the Braves defensive coordinator for two seasons....The Braves third head coach in eight years, Lee landed in Braves Country from Waynesburg (PA) College, where he served as associate head coach and offensive coordinator....During his eight-year stint, the Yellow Jackets were nationally ranked several times....Lee has also served as an assistant coach at Fairmont State (1984-86) and Lock Haven University (1977-78)....Lee was the head football coach at University High School in West Virginia from 1979 to 1983....Lee is a 1978 graduate of Lock Haven University and earned his master's degree from West Virginia University in 1986....Lee and his wife, Doris, have two children....His son, Mark, is a football graduate assistant at WVU, while his daughter, Jennifer, is a junior at Chowan.

Chowan's linebacking corps continues to impress and garner national recognition....Last week, linebacker Keith Jones recorded nine tackles, including two for a loss, and added a fumble recovery and a sack....Senior linebacker Thomas Davis had a monster game the previous week against Frostburg, recording 13 tackles, two for a loss, one sack and a forced fumble....In the Braves 21-20 win over Newport News Apprentice, senior linebacker Lamont Gaddy was named d3football.com's national linebacker of the week....Gaddy was all over the field, recording a school record 21 tackles, including two for a loss and one sack....In week one, Jones received the same honor.
