The Braves women's soccer team fought hard to overcome a two goal deficit and eventually fell, 4-2, on Monday. The Braves got on the board first, when Liz Anderson took a pass from Tiffany Cunin and found the back of the net in the 24th minute. Mount Olive neutralized the game by scoring 14 minutes later and the first half ended in a 1-1 tie.
Mount Olive came out strong in the second half and tallied two more goals. Seemingly sparked by the loss of Cunin, who left with an injury, the Braves counter attacked and Kristen Lahm scored on a direct kick from 30 yards out to make it a game. Trailing by just one goal, Chowan missed some key scoring opportunities. Mount Olive added another goal with 30 seconds remaining in the game.
Liz Anderson, Tiffany Cunin and Jessica Campos played an exceptionally strong game for the Braves, who fall to 3-9.
