Scott Parker enters his 24th year at Chowan and fourth in Athletics after spending his previous years in the Chowan Admissions office.
Scott started his journey at Chowan in 2002 as an Admissions counselor. Parker was a counselor for four years before being promoted to Assistant Director of Admissions in 2006. He would serve in the role for three years before being promoted to Associate Director of Admissions in 2009.
While as the Associate Director of Admissions for one year, Parker would once again climb the ranks to be named Director of Undergraduate Admissions in 2010. Parker would serve in the role for two years before being named Director of Transfer Student Admission in 2012 and serve in the role for four years prior to being named Director of Admissions in 2016.
In 2015, Parker would be named Chowan University Male Employee of the Year.
Prior to moving to Athletics for the 2021-22 year, Parker served in the Director of Admissions role for five years. His admissions office experience garnered another tenure in the admissions office at Chowan. He spent the 2023-2024 academic year leading the admissions office before being asked to return to his position in athletics. Chowan Athletics outside sponsorship and external marketing relationships increased significantly with the addition to Parker to the athletic administration staff. Parker will also assist with Hall of Fame and NCAA compliance as well as perform other important tasks in the daily operation of the athletic department.
Before coming to Chowan, Parker worked for WFMZ 104.9 as the Account Executive for the radio station in Elizabeth City, N.C. from 1999-2002.
Throughout his time in Admissions, Parker worked closely with Athletics with the Admissions process, as well as, the public address announcer for Chowan Football, Basketball, and Volleyball.
The Williamston, N.C. native graduated from Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication in 1999.
