Maverick Wolfley

Maverick Wolfley enters his first season of coaching at Chowan University as the Wide Receiver and Tight End Coach. Wolfley comes to Chowan after serving as the Running Backs Coach and Special Teams Assistant at Minot State University as well as a Graduate Assistant for Tight Ends & Running Backs at the University of West Florida.

As a player, Wolfley competed at every level of football. A native of Morgantown, West Virginia, he was a standout at Morgantown High School. Starting out at West Virginia University in Spring of 2017 before moving on to the University of Akron, where he was a four-year member, three-year starter, and part of the Zips’ 2017 MAC Championship Game appearance and 2017 Boca Raton Bowl. Wolfley later transferred to the University of West Florida, where he was a two-year starter, two-time Gulf South Conference champion, and helped lead the Argonauts to two NCAA Division II playoff appearances, including a Final Four run.

After college, Wolfley earned an opportunity with the Pittsburgh Steelers Mini-Camp and workouts with XFL and UFL teams as a long snapper.

Wolfley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Akron and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of West Florida.
