Jacob Walker joined the Chowan University Athletic Administration staff as a graduate assistant in August 2026.
A native of Durham, North Carolina, Walker is no stranger to Chowan, having spent the previous four years as a member of the Chowan University baseball program while also being heavily involved across campus. During his time as an undergraduate, Walker served as a Ministry Chaplain, Student Enrollment Adviser for the Chowan University Admissions team and Presidential Ambassador. He was also a member of Alpha Chi and Phi Epsilon Kappa honor societies, was recognized as an Outstanding Student and was named a Chowan Christian Service Association (CCSA) Scholar. During his senior year, Walker also gained experience within athletics through an internship assisting the Chowan baseball program.
Walker graduated cum laude from Chowan in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Recreation, Wellness, and Sport. Throughout his undergraduate career, he earned multiple appearances on the Dean’s List and President’s List while graduating with a 3.6 GPA.
In his role as a graduate assistant, Walker will assist the Chowan Athletic Administration with day-to-day departmental operations. His responsibilities will include assisting with game day operations, social media content creation, media days and other administrative duties throughout the department.
An aspiring athletic director, Walker will use the graduate assistant position to continue developing his experience in collegiate athletics administration while contributing to the daily operations and overall success of Chowan Athletics.
