Hassan Davis

Hassan Davis enters his second season as assistant men's lacrosse coach at Chowan University after returning to his alma mater ahead of the 2026 campaign.

In his first season on staff, Davis helped guide Chowan to a 5-9 overall record and a 2-6 finish in Conference Carolinas play, a notable improvement from the program's 1-11 campaign in 2025. Working closely with the Hawks' faceoff unit, Davis played an important role in developing the team's performance at the X and helping create additional possession opportunities throughout the season. Chowan showcased significant growth during the campaign, highlighted by record-setting victories over Shorter (33-2) and Davis & Elkins (24-8), while continuing to build a strong foundation for the future.

Davis returned to Chowan in 2025 after a successful playing and coaching career, bringing valuable experience and a strong connection to the program. As a student-athlete from 2021-23, he established himself as one of the program's most accomplished face-off specialists. He appeared in 41 contests, recording 166 ground balls and 377 face-off wins. Davis remains the program's all-time leader in career ground balls and ranks third in school history in face-off percentage (.403). He graduated from Chowan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

Following graduation, Davis began his coaching career at his alma mater, Dundalk High School in Baltimore, Maryland, serving as head varsity lacrosse coach from 2023-25. In just his first full season competing in Division II Baltimore County play, Dundalk advanced to the regional finals in 2024. The program continued its rise in 2025, capturing its first regional championship since 1995 while setting a school record with 178 goals scored. Under Davis' leadership, the Owls produced 14 all-conference selections and helped place five student-athletes on collegiate rosters.

In addition to his high school coaching duties, Davis served as an assistant coach with True Lacrosse Baltimore for the 2027 age group during the 2024-25 seasons, helping develop players' technical skills, lacrosse IQ, and competitive mindset in a high-level club environment.

Davis also expanded his coaching experience as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for Dundalk High School's junior varsity football program. He helped lead the team to the first JV county championship in school history while overseeing a defense that allowed just 8.3 points per game.

Davis brings strong leadership, player-development expertise, and a passion for mentoring student-athletes as he continues to help build the future of Chowan men's lacrosse.
