Diana Rodriguez

A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Diana Rodriguez concludes a legendary four-year career with the Chowan University Volleyball program, where she served as a premier Libero and Defensive Specialist. Diana made an immediate impact on the court as a freshman in 2022, earning Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-Conference honors after totaling 632 digs. Her momentum continued into 2023, when she reached the 1,000th career dig milestone during the annual Dig Pink match against UNC Pembroke. After a steady junior campaign, Diana etched her name into the history books during her senior season; in a 3-0 sweep over UNC Pembroke on October 8th, she became Chowan’s all-time career digs leader. She finishes her playing career with a staggering 2,022 digs across 107 matches and 378 sets.

Diana’s excellence extended well beyond the baseline, as she emerged as one of the university’s most decorated student-athletes. She earned consistent recognition on the Dean’s and President’s Lists and was inducted into both the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society and Chi Alpha Sigma. Her senior year was marked by a sweep of prestigious awards, including being named the 2025-26 Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year, the 2026 Most Outstanding Student, and a finalist for the Murphy Osborne Award. On the conference level, she was honored as the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Conference selection. Now transitioning into a leadership role as a Graduate Assistant, Diana brings a wealth of competitive experience and a proven coaching background from her time working with youth club volleyball in Suffolk, Virginia.
