Dario Mendes Caetano begins his first season as a Graduate Assistant with Chowan University Men’s Soccer, where he will work closely with the Hawks’ goalkeepers. A native of Portugal, Caetano brings high-level playing experience from both collegiate and international competition.
At the University of Dayton, Caetano was a standout goalkeeper and three-year starter, helping lead the Flyers to back-to-back Atlantic 10 Conference Championships (2023, 2024) and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in 2024. Over his career, he earned multiple honors, including Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team recognition in both 2023 and 2024, A-10 Defensive Player of the Week, and a spot on the A-10 All-Rookie Team in 2022. He finished his Dayton career with more than 50 starts, including seven shutouts as a freshman, and was consistently among the A-10 leaders in defensive statistics.
Before his collegiate career, Caetano developed in one of Europe’s most respected academies, winning two youth national championships with Benfica and representing Portugal's U15, U18, and U19 national teams.
Now transitioning into coaching, Caetano brings elite goalkeeping knowledge, championship-level experience, and a passion for player development to the Chowan University men's soccer program.
