Brady Goode enters his second season with the Chowan University baseball program as an assistant coach, where he oversees the infield and serves as the Hawks’ Defensive Coordinator. In addition to directing the defense, Goode plays an integral role in hitting instruction, scouting, player development, and recruiting efforts.
During the 2026 season, Goode helped guide the development of several emerging contributors for the Hawks, including a talented freshman class that established itself as a key part of the program’s future. Under his instruction, Jordan Turner led the team with a .421 batting average and 40 hits during an impressive debut campaign, while Derrick Davis posted a .982 fielding percentage in the outfield. Jacob Howard also emerged as a dependable presence defensively at first base, highlighting the continued growth of the Hawks under Goode’s player-focused approach.
Goode came to Chowan after spending three seasons at Mary Baldwin University from 2021-24, where he served as an assistant baseball coach for the Fighting Squirrels. During his tenure, he worked closely with hitters and outfielders while overseeing recruiting, coordinating travel, preparing scouting reports, and assisting with overall player development. He began his time at Mary Baldwin as a graduate assistant before being elevated into a full-time assistant coaching role.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Goode is the owner and head coach of the Richmond Trash Pandas, a summer league organization competing in the NABA Richmond League. Since 2020, he has recruited top collegiate talent from across Virginia to compete in a highly competitive summer environment while also managing practice plans, travel logistics, and day-to-day operations.
Goode also brings coaching experience at the high school and youth levels, including serving as the varsity baseball coach at Mechanicsville High School in 2021 and coaching with the Richmond Baseball Academy Seminoles.
As a student-athlete, Goode was a versatile utility player at Averett University, where he competed for three seasons, and also spent time at Virginia Wesleyan University on the junior varsity team.
Goode earned his Master of Business Administration from Mary Baldwin University and received his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with a minor in Communications from Averett University.
