    Home to the Hawks Baseball team, Hawkins field was named after Jerry Hawkins, who coached baseball at Chowan for over 30 years. Over time the field has experienced various upgrades, making it accommodating for both the players and the fans. The upgrades include a new infield playing surface (sod and clay), and renovated batting cages. Just recently the dedicated and hardworking coaching staff added a custom netting backstop and renovated the dugouts as well. With the help of some special donors, in 2010 a new two story press box was built just behind the home plate backstop. In addition, just below the press box you can find the concessions area filled with the best ballpark food to satisfy your taste buds.Â
