MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan men's soccer team wrapped up day two of the Michael Shope Memorial Tournament on Saturday evening, battling Concord University to a scoreless draw at Hawks Soccer Field.
The Hawks and Mountain Lions battled back and forth throughout a competitive 90 minutes, with both sides creating opportunities but neither able to find the back of the net. Concord held a 15-7 advantage in shots, while Chowan goalkeeper Lucas Kibrya came up with four saves to keep the Mountain Lions off the scoreboard and secure his first shutout of the season.

Thomas Mills recorded one shot on goal. Clay Verdin, Henry Kohel, Brandon Hill, Sean Jacobs, Robbie Deighan, and Andre Camargo each added a shot as Chowan continued to pressure the Concord defense throughout the match.
In goal, Kibrya played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves.

The Hawks will open conference play at home on Saturday, September 5, as they welcome familiar opponent Francis Marion University to Hawks Soccer Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM under the lights.
