MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University women's flag football team opened Conference Carolinas play under the lights at Garrison Stadium on Wednesday evening, hosting Lees-McRae College. Janaya Perry provided the highlight of the night for the Hawks, stirring up the home crowd with a 66-yard touchdown.

Adriana Lightfoot paced the Hawks offensively with 14 receptions for 105 yards, while also contributing six tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Zyian Heyligar contributed a team-high 10 tackles.
Janaya Perry accounted for Chowan's lone score, hauling in a pass and breaking free for a 66-yard touchdown. Perry added four tackles and an interception defensively to round out an all-around performance.
At quarterback, Neveah Higdon completed 20 passes for 207 yards and connected on the Hawks' touchdown strike. She also recorded two tackles on defense.
Kiara Arguello contributed four tackles on the night, including one tackle for loss.
UP NEXT
The Hawks return to action on Saturday, March 7, at Garrison Stadium for a doubleheader against Mars Hill University. The first game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM, with game two to follow.
