MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to nationally ranked #23 Catawba in their home opener on Sunday afternoon at Hawks Field. The Hawks battled hard against the Indians, holding the visitors to a single goal midway through the first half before Catawba pulled away late. Sunday's loss brings the Hawks to 0-2-0 on the season, while the Catawba Indians advance to 2-0-0 on the year.

On the offensive end, Riley Donnelly and Lily Harrison each registered a shot on goal, as the Hawks finished with three total attempts.
In goal, Gracie Ross tallied three saves before Kylee Smith entered the game late in the second half. Smith added two saves and kept the Catawba Indians scoreless during her time in goal.
