MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan men's soccer team put forth a strong effort in a hard-fought conference matchup against Barton College on Wednesday evening. The Hawks rallied in the second half, but their comeback came up just short as the Bulldogs held on for a 3-2 victory. With the setback, Chowan moves to 2-2-1 on the season and 0-1-1 in league play, while Barton improves to 2-2-1 overall and 1-0-0 in the conference.

The Hawks kept the pressure on throughout the match, firing 33 total shots with 12 on target. Cameron Letterlough led the attack with six attempts, including two on goal, and converted at 74:56 to put Chowan on the board. Just two minutes later, Jamie Moore, assisted by Jeevan Purewal, added a goal to bring the Hawks closer. Moore finished the game with five shots, two on goal. Additionally, Robbie Deighan contributed two shots on target, helping sustain Chowan's offensive effort.
In net, Lukas Kibrya turned away three shots in the second half to keep Barton from extending its lead and give Chowan a chance to battle back.
